Criteria and Conditions (Step 2)
To apply for a grant, you must meet all of these criteria. Please contact us if you have any questions about these criteria.
- Projects must be led by young people.
- You must be 20 years of age and under at the date of the application deadline. If you are applying for a group grant, all group members must be 20 years of age and under (not including the mentor).
- You must live in New Zealand.
- You must agree to The Werry Centre using photos and any other media your project produces on our website and in promotion of RISE.
- Projects must be led and run by young people. You need to have come up with the idea for your project, you need to complete the application form and carry out the project. Your adult mentor/whakaruruhau may support you. Go to the Mentor page to find out more about this.
- Projects must be relevant to young people under 20 years old in New Zealand.
- Projects must relate to as many young people as possible. Will it reach young people at your school, at your organisation, in your community, or all of New Zealand?
- Projects must relate to promoting or increasing the awareness of youth mental health. Go to the Start circle at the top of the page to check out an explanation of promoting or increasing the awareness of youth mental health.
- Your application form must include a realistic project budget. Extra funding will not be available from RISE after we have accepted your application.
- You must acknowledge The Werry Centre on anything that you produce such as brochures, books, DVD etc. Also provide a copy of all items along with your final report.
- Clearly identify other grants or sources of funding for your project.
- Respond to contact with the RISE team about your projects progress.
What things does this grant fund?
It could include (but not limited to):
- things you need to bring your project to life (i.e. production costs, art supplies, food at events, prizes, equipment rentals, printing costs for promotional materials etc.)
- koha(gift) for guest speakers at events
- the cost of training that is related to the project
What things does this grant NOT fund?
- Capital expenses (e.g. rent, electricity, phones, etc)
- Projects that have already occurred
- Overseas travel
- Anything that looks inflated (too expensive) in the budget
- Purchasing of equipment e.g Video cameras, but we will pay for the cost to hire equipment
